Citizens' Academy at the Wastewater Plant

After the wastewater entering the plant is filtered of large items through a series of fences, this contraption winds out the long, thin, twisty things that got through the fence.

After that, there's many stages of settling, and letting natural bacteria do its work.

By the time the water is ready to go back into the river, it's clear and clean.

Much of the monitoring work is done by automation and computers now.
